Wishbone Ash - Blue Horizon (2014)

The 26th album from this British band.

Wishbone Ash was a quartet on this album with a lineup of guitars, bass, drums, percussion and vocals.
The band was helped by four other musicians who provided bouzouki, fiddle, percussion, organ and backing vocals.

This is the final album from the band and I would surprised if they ever released another studio album. The band is still touring. But they are more like a tribute act to their 1970s albums. The members also have daytime jobs and lives outside the band. And in the case of the only remaining original member left in the band; a very good biography/book too.

Blue Horizon is an irrelevant album when it comes to their career.

We get one hour of cosy rock here. Straight old men rock. There are still references to the old Wishbone Ash on this album. There is still some double guitars assaults here. But the ghost has left this band and this album ages ago.

When that is said, this is not a bad album. The music is nice and cosy. It has no values outside that and the quality is dubious. The best thing here is the guitars. Guitars not backed up by good song writing.

This is a decent enough album and that is that. When I started to review the Wishbone Ash albums some months ago, the band was an enigma to me. Today when I am finishing this review, the band is still an enigma to me.
