Solution - Fully Interlocking (1977)

The fourth album from this Dutch band.

The band was a quartet on this album with a lineup of piano, organ, synths, strings, saxophones, bass, percussions, flutes, drums and vocals. Two other musicians contributed with congas and background vocals.

Solution was a good Dutch band who released six studio albums between 1971 and 1982 before they gave up the ghost. There has been some reunions and a reunion DVD without that ending up with a studio album. You will find my reviews of two other studio albums here and here.

Solution was a band who operated between progressive rock and fusion. Some of their stuff is symphonic prog lite and some stuff are jazz and fusion. Mostly one one album too.

There are some pretty good fusion here. Laidback fusion who borders to radio-friendly TV soundtrack like music. Then there is some vocals driven songs too.

This is pretty standard fare from Solution. And it is not a bad fare. I am surprised that this band was one of the very few bands who did this crossover fusion and prog rock genre.

The music is very nice to the ear. It is too light for my liking as I sometimes feel that I have entered into a half-decent US crime TV series from the 1980s. That said, I am surviving the ordeal....

This album has some good stuff and a lot of decent stuff. Hence the rating.
