Golden Caves - Collision (2017)

The second album from this Dutch band.

Golden Caves is a quintet with a lineup of guitars, keyboards, drums, bass and female vocals.

From what I understand, Collision is a remastered version of their 2016 debut album Bring Me To The Water. Hence, I am bypassing that album.

Golden Caves has got a very good reputation as a live band and album band. The remastering of their debut album as this album has also given the band an even better reputation. I think this band is on the up and a coming star.

Their music is a mix of neo-prog and progressive metal. The vocals from Ms. Romy Ouwerkerk is very good indeed. I do not doubt she has even more to offer in the future and this album is just the first shot from her. Regard her as a big talent.

She also really knows how to fit and stretch her voice around the neo-prog and prog metal songs here. She is indeed adding a lot of value to some good songs. The sound is also helping out this album a lot.

The sound and songs is performed with some really good guitars, bass and keyboards. There are even some good old organs thrown into the sound to add some tasty details.

The music and the sound is good indeed. There are no really great songs here. But this album is more than acceptable and a good debut album. Check out this band.
