Delusion Squared - Anthropocene (2018)

The fourth album from this French band.

Delusion Squared is a duo on this album with a lineup of bass, keyboards, programming, drums, guitars and vocals.

I have reviewed their previous three albums for # 1 of this blog and you can find the reviews there.

This band was one of those bands who used female vocals to great effect in their take on neo-prog. Their first three albums is therefore really good and albums you should all get and enjoy.

The female vocals has been ditched on this album, I am sorry to report.

The band still retains the basics of their sound. The male vocals here is also good, although the English vocals comes with some pretty heavy French accents.

The music is melodic, symphonic neo-prog with the occasional chugging guitar riffs. There is even some hints of their nationality in their music. Yes, the theatrical melancholic French symphonic prog shines through their music. It is not a big part of this album, though.

This album is one hour and five minutes long. It offers up some really good neo-prog. I am a bit of a follower of this band. My faith in this band has been rewarded with this album. That despite of their change in vocals. Nevertheless......
