Possible Worlds - Pilgrim Of The Absolute (2017)

The debut album from this US band.

Possible Worlds is a trio with a lineup of guitars, bass, drums and vocals.

This band is one of many new progressive rock bands from the east coast of USA. New Hampshire to be more precise. Which is a great thing.

The band's music is somewhere between Rush, Neal Morse and Porcupine Tree. The sparse instrumentation means they are not as heavy as those two bands above. They sounds a bit lighter than the those bands. More like Neal Morse and Steven Wilson.

The inclusion of Rush classic song Subdivision says a lot about their music. No keyboards and this song sound more guitars focused than the original song. Not a bad cover at all and an interesting take on this song.

The music is indeed guitars and vocals focused. Both does a good job so no complaints.

This is indeed an album with an original sound. A fifty minutes long album too and good value for money as there is not much waste of time here. The songs are good and mostly quirky.

The result is a good album and a very promising debut. Let's hope the band will continue to release albums.
