Moom - Bone Idol (1999)

The second and final album from this British band.

Moom was a quintet with a lineup of keyboards, guitars, bass, drums and vocals.

The band's debut album Toot from 1995 was not a favourite album of mine. You can read my review here.

In other words, I was not looking forward to review Bone Idol.

The many listening sessions on this album reveals a bit of college rock with a slant of Canterbury prog. There is also some shoegaze here too.

The Hammond organ sound also reminds me a lot about the pop sound from the end of the 1960s. There is indeed some psychedelia here.

The Hatfield & The North influences from the debut album Toot has gone though. The music is pretty simple when it comes to the sound.

There is a couple of fairly good songs here in Rooftops and Rusty Can. The rest of the album is rather forgetable. This fifty minutes long minutes long album has nice psych pop tunes and that is all.
