Tricantropus - Scrum (2017)

The third album from this Spanish band.

The band is a trio with a lineup of programming, keyboards, guitars, bass, drums and percussion.

I have reviewed their previous two albums for # 1 of this blog and you can find these reviews here and here.

I am not a fan, is what you can read from those two reviews. But I do not mind giving this band some of my time. Listening to their music and reviewing their albums, in other words.

The music is again instrumental. Their music is a blend of jazz, fusion, eclectic prog, cinematic music and symphonic prog. There is also some Spanish folk rock and pop here.

The music is not overly complex. It is pretty easy to understand the music here and it's landscape. Most of it is delivered with acoustic, half-acoustic and electric guitars. There is also a lot of keyboards here.

The problem with this fifty minutes long album is that it is not that interesting and exciting. This music is much more effective on a stage than on a record.

That said, this is an OK album for those who just want to relax and gently sleep with some music in the background. But this is not a good album.

2.5 points
