Humus - Whispering Galleries (1999)

The fifth album from this Mexican band.

Humus was a trio with a lineup of bass, drums and guitars.
They had help from a female vocalist and another guitarist.

I am not a big fan of this band. Something you will find reflected in my reviews of their other albums in this blog. Go and have a look later on.

Humus is indeed a weird band and they have turned up the weirdness on this album.

The basis here is guitars based psych and space rock. Very primitive too. The addition of the female vocals on some songs here is taking this album well into eclectic space rock too.

Some parts and indeed the vibe reminds me a lot about Celtic Frost's Into The Pandemonium album. Not the music, but the atonal vibes does that.

The guitars is indeed very primitive and is chugging on everywhere. Which is very weird....

There is no really good melodies and hooks here. The female vocals adds a lot to this album. That makes this an album somewhere between decent and good.

And I am still not a fan of this band, after completing the reviews of the albums I have got of this band. Humus is a very strange band..... indeed.
