Thirsty Moon - You'll Never Come Back (1974)

The second album from this German band.

Thirsty Moon was a sextet on this album with a lineup of woodwinds, bass, drums, guitars, percussions, keyboards and some English vocals.

I was pretty impressed by their self-titled debut album from 1972. A good mix of eclectic prog, space rock, krautrock and jazz. So I was looking forward to this album.

This album opens up with some minutes of good eclectic prog before this album really shows it's true face. O boy is that one heck of a face.

The woodwinds sits on the top of the bass and some guitars are found creeping around in the bottom of the music. And we are now getting a full blast of spaced out jazz. And this jazz is pretty intense and hardcore.

And yes, this is krautrock. Forty-four minutes of krautrock.

The music is pretty intense and by defination; pretty hard too. There is no real great piece of music here and that is the only letdown on an album which is full of dense, eclectic krautrock.

It is still a good album which will really make krautrock fans of this disposition sit up and take a note of this band. That is, if they did not already knew about Thirsty Moon. Check out this album.
